Abstract

A quantitative vegetational survey was conducted around Karachi, using the standard Quadrate method. Data were compared with previous (12 years before) recorded data and loss in families and species are mentioned in the present study. It is evident that compared to 127 species belonging to 54 families, now the area showed 32 plant species belonging to 23 families. Both previous and present results are presented in a table. It is concluded that human disturbances caused a great loss in the number of families and species.
